Implementation description, goals and challenges
The main goal of the project was to eliminate the manual, time-consuming and difficulty-prone process of measuring products and to automate the transfer of data to warehouse management systems.
The deployment of Cubiscan 325 dimensioning equipment was expected to make it possible:
- Accurate and repeatable sizing of each SKU,
- Uploading data directly to the WMS,
- Unifying the data standard across the organization,
- Optimizing storage and transportation space.
The challenges posed:
- A time-consuming and manual process of collecting product dimensions and weights.
- Risk of difficulties arising from measurements taken by different people
- No ability to automatically update data in the WMS system
- Differentiation of data formats depending on the operator
- Need to standardize master data across the logistics network
The test implementation in the logistics center in Lodz confirmed the effectiveness of the solution, so the system was extended to all Rossmann Distribution Centers in Poland.

Implemented solutions and achieved results
- Precision – the device measures to within 1 mm, eliminating the subjectivity of manual measurements.
- Speed – the measurement time has been reduced from 2 – 3 minutes to 10 – 15 seconds.
- Integration – the data goes directly to the WMS without the need for manual entry.
- Standardization – no matter who performs the measurement, the data has the same format and quality.
- Saving space – precise data enables better planning of loading and storage.
- Sustainability – less “driven air” is a real reduction in CO₂ emissions.
Cubiscan Dimensioning enabled our client to fully automate the product dimensioning process.
