Zebra MC 3400 / MC3450 - key parameters
Few automatic identification devices(label printers, data collectors, or code readers) have gained such popularity and recognition as the Zebra 3000 series of data collectors.
The current sequel to this iconic device is now hitting the market.
Expect some new features that will improve work with WMS class applications and those used in the retail sector, but also expect a continuation of the best of this series of devices.
Below are some conclusions after the first tests of the new terminal, and to the right you can read about the key parameters of the device.

Speed of operation - the new Zebra MC 3400 data collector is a speed demon.
Does terminal speed in a warehouse environment matter? It turns out that yes, and the role of high-speed hardware is becoming increasingly important. This has to do with the increasing functionality of information systems operated on such equipment. Until a few years ago, WMS class system screens were displayed by the operator on the terminal screen using telnet emulation, which severely limited their functionality.
The current trend requires that the terminal’s user interface be similar to that of consumer devices, and the number of functions performed on the terminal has increased significantly. Their operation involves the use of much faster devices, and such a device is the terminal Zebra MC 3400. equipped with Qualcomm® 4490 processor, providing almost 2.5 times more power and 50% more RAM area.

An impressive selection of scanning modules.
Traditionally, the devices of such a recognized manufacturer as Zebra provide a wide range of scanning modules supporting the reading of barcodes or 2D codes. Particularly noteworthy is the SE 58 scanning module with an extended range (reading from up to 30 meters) with IntelliFocus technology, thanks to which reading from both greater and lesser distances is smooth and efficient.
The new scanners in the MC 3400 series terminals are equipped with green-light viewfinders, which support work in warehouse environments by making it easy to find the code to be scanned.

Technologies known from consumer devices in an industrial device.
Above all, the MC3400 series has been designed with user convenience in mind. They feature a highly durable display glass and scanner protection glass. In order to increase the user’s comfort, the user can take advantage of the facial recognition option in the process of logging into the device, and the package of additional services allows, among other things, to take advantage of the OCR option, i.e. handwriting recognition reading, which can be quite an improvement in everyday work with various applications used in warehouse logistics, but also in other departments of modern economy.
Mention should also be made of the compatibility of the new series of devices with accessories created for earlier series of devices, which can play a big role in calculating the total cost of investment.
